The Chain Network > Check Chain

It is important as a parent to know what your child is publishing over the Internet.  With the availability of free accounts on numerous social websites, displaying personal information without parental awareness is made easy.  Check Chain will help you know what is available and how to view the information posted by your child.

It is no surprise that in today’s time, kids know more about the computer and internet than the parents. The Internet Protection Agency has given hundreds of internet safety presentations to schools, churches, etc. One common thing asked at all of them is “How do I find out if my child is in My Space, Xanga, Face Book, or any of the social websites that they shouldn’t be?"

We at the Internet Protection Agency have developed the solution, “Check Chain”. Check Chain works basically like a search engine. Just enter your child’s information and Check Chain searches all of the websites of concern for your child. In addition, if you’re a member of the Child Chain Registry, the search capabilities are unlimited. Check Chain and the Child Chain Registry work seamlessly together searching the web for any and all specific information entered for your child.

Just another way the Internet Protection Agency is helping parents fight the battle to protect our families from the dangers of the internet.

MySpace.com is one of the more popular social website on the Internet.  Here you can sign up for a free account and post profile information as well as pictures, videos, etc.  Because the memberships are free, none of the information submitted is verified making it very easy for predators to disguise their intentions.  The system does have blocking filters available, however, if the account owner wishes, all information can be published and searched.

Friendster.com is a free site where children can create a profile and share an abundant amount of personal information.  Pictures, videos, and other content such as blogs can also be displayed.  Because it is free to sign up and the information you submit is not verified, it is easy for predators to obtain information your child makes public without the ability to identify or track them.
